Billy drops an egg off the roof of a buliding 80 ft above ground. Using the model . How long did it take for the egg to hit the ground? using the equation h(t)=-16t^2+h
.
Set h to 80 (represents initial height)
and
set h(t) to zero (represents ground level)
solve for t:
h(t)=-16t^2+h
0=-16t^2+80
16t^2 = 80
t^2 = 5
t = sqrt(5)
t = 2.24 seconds
