To determine the length of a kimono one measures in centimeters the distance from the bottom of a persons neck to 5cm above the floor. If the distance from the bottom of Daves sisters neck to the floor is 5ft 2 inches calculate the length of the kimono that Dave should purchase. Show all work.

we have to know that there are 2.54 centimeters in an inch.
and that there are 12 inches in a foot
So Bob's sister is 5 feet + 2 inches
convert the feet to inches: 5*12=60 and add the remaining inches: 62
convert 62 inches to centimeters
62*2.54=147.48cm
subtract the 5cm from the floor, so the kimono should be:
147.48-5=142.48 centimeters long.
