a right triangle has two of the sides are the same length and the hypotenuse is 16. what is side a and side b?
----
Let the equal length sides be "x":
------
Use Pythagoras:
x^2 + x^2 = 16^2
2x^2 = 16^2
x^2 = 8*16
---
x = 2*sqrt(2)*4
---
x = 8*sqrt(2)
