RIGHT.
Since y = 5x-8, substitute for y in the 2nd equation
and solve for "x":
---
5(5x-8) = 2x+6
25x-40 = 2x+6
23x = 46
x = 2
----
Since y = 5x-8, y = 5*2-8 = 2

Right. After substituting y into the bottom equation, you should get 5(5x-8) = 2x + 6. From here you can solve for x. After solving for x, get back to the top eqaution y = 5x - 8, and then solve for y. =)
