Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x=y+8
3y+2x=26
Replace x by (y+8) & solve for y
3y+2(y+8)=26
3y+2y+16=26
5y=26-16
5y=10
y=10/5
y=2 ans.
x=2+8
x=10 ans.
Proof;
3*2+2*10=26
6+20=26
26=26
