-7x+y=12

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3x-2y=9
-7x+y=12
------------------------
Multiply thru the 2nd equation by 2:
3x - 2y = 9
-14x+2y = 24
------------------
Add the equations and solve for "x":
-11x = 33
x = -3
-------------------
Substitute into -7x+y = 12 and solve for"y":
-7x + y = 12
-7(-3) + y = 12
y = -9
