A toy airplane is 10 inches long. If the actual plane is 75ft. long, find the scale of the model.

The scale would be found by dividing the given dimension of the model plane by the known dimension of the real plane. Be sure that the units are all the same. All in inches or all in feet. Let's use inches, so convert 75 feet to inches.
(75 ft.)(12 in./ft) = 900 inches.
The scale is: This is often written as: 1:90
The scale of the model is: 1:90
