Let x=a positive even integer
x+2=next even integer
Subtracting 2x from both sides we get:
Taking the square root of both sides, we get:
x=12 and/or x=-12
Since we're only looking for positive integers we take x=12,
x+2=12+2=14
So the 2 consecutive even integers are 12 and 14.
