Let x be the number.
One fourth of the number is then
One fifth of the number is
But because 'one fourth of a number is two more'

Now solve.

First we need a common denominator. The best we can do is 4 * 5 = 20.

Multiply both sides by 20

Add to both sides

So the number is 40
