I'm not sure what you are asking here....
What you show is one way of thinking when you are asked to add 53 to 38.
The thinking is that 38 is 2 short of 40, so you take 2 of the 53 and add it to the 38, making 40, and leaving 53-2 = 51 left to add. Then 40 plus 51 is easy because there is no "carry".
In mathematical notation, the process can be displayed like this:
38 + 53 = 38 + (2 + 51) = (38 + 2) + 51 = 40 + 51 = 91
