Question 1167724: Lee's age is 15 years less than half Bob's age. If the sum of their ages is 9, find both their ages.
Answer by VFBundy(438) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Bob's age = b
Lee's age = 0.5b - 15
b + (0.5b - 15) = 9
b + 0.5b - 15 = 9
1.5b - 15 = 9
1.5b = 24
b = 16
Bob's age = b = 16
Lee's age = 0.5b - 15 = 0.5(16) - 15 = 8 - 15 = -7
