Let m be Mia's money. Then her first investment is 1/2 m at 4% interest; her 2nd is 3/10 of her money at 6%, and 2/10 of her money at 8%. So:
.5(.04)m+.3(.06)m+.2(.08)m=2700
.02m+.018m+.016m=2700
.054m=2700
m=2700/.054=$50000 total investments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
