Question 997945: bob has $9.60 in quarters and dimes. how many of each coin do you have if you have twice as many quarters as dimes? I know the answer just need help getting the formula to solve it
Answer by fractalier(6550)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Call the number of each q and d.
We have two equations:
25q + 10d = 960
and
d = 2q
This doesn't work out. I think you meant to say twice as many dimes as quarters...then your second equation becomes
q = 2d
