Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
dimes=x
nickels=3x
.10x+0.05(3x)=1.00
.10x +0.15x=1.00
0.25x=1.00
x=4
3x=12
4 dimes is 40 cents
12 nickels is 60 cents
That is a dollar.
