Quantity Equation:: p = 3n
Value Equation: p + 5n = 41600 cents
----------------------------
Substitute for "p" and solve for "n"::
3n + 5n = 416000
8n = 416000
n = 52000 (# of nickels)

Solve for "p"::
p = 3n
p = 3*52000 = 156000 (# of pennies)
