Question 965774: In a pocket there are 39 coins, either 20p or 50p.
If the total of the money is Rs.12.60, how many 20p are there?
Answer by CubeyThePenguin(3113) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x = number of 20p coins
y = number of 50p coins
x + y = 39
20x + 50y = 1260
50x + 50y = 1950
-(20x + 50y = 1260)
-----------------------
30x = 690
x = 23 ---> y = 13
There are 23 20p coins.
