Answer by checkley77(12844)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
let x be the number of dimes
let 4x be the number of nickels
.10x+.05*4x=8.10
.10x+.20x=8.10
.30x=8.10
x=8.10/.30
x=27 number of dimes
4*27=108 number of nickles
proof:
.10*27+.05*108=8.10
2.70+5.40=8.10
8.10=8.10
