Question 958112: An amount of R17.70 is made up of 127 coins which are either 20c coins or 10c coins. How many 20c coins are there
Answer by CubeyThePenguin(3113)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x = number of 10c coins
y = number of 20c coins

x + y = 127
10x + 20y = 1770 ---> x + 2y = 177

x + y = 127
-x - 2y = -177
-------------------
-y = -50
y = 50

---> There are y = 50 20c coins.
