Quantity:: s = q
Value:: 1*s + 0.25q = 50 dollars
------
Substitute for "s" and solve for "q"::
q + 0.25q = 50
1.25q = 50
q = 40 (# of quarters)
Solve for "s":
s = q = 40 (# of silver dollars)

(5/4)n = 50
n = (4/5)50 = 40
40 silver dollars and 40 quarters
