Question 801387: Frank has 6 times as many dimes as he has quarters. He has a total of 21 coins in his piggy bank totaling $2.55. How many of each coin does he have?
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
let number of quarters be x
dimes = 6x
Total value of quarters + total value of dimes = 255
25x+6*10x=255
25x+60x=255
85x=255
/85
x=3 Number of quarters
dimes = 21-x
21-3
=18 dimes
Check
18*10+25*3
180+75
=255
