Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I have 25 coins in my pocket, only quarters and nickels
and all together they equal $2.25
-------
Quantity Equation:: n + q = 25
Value Equation:::: 5n+25q = 225
------
Modify for elimination::
5n + 5q = 125
5n +25q = 225
---------------------
Solve for "q":
20q = 100
q = 5 (# of quarterrs)
-----
n + q = 25
n = 20 (# of nickels)
