You simply do this by trial and error.

3 nickels + 1 dime + 1 quarter = 5 coins total

Value of 3 nickels: 3*5 = 15 cents

Value of 1 dime: 1*10 = 10 cents

Value of 1 quarter: 1*25 = 25 cents

Total value = 3 nickels + 1 dime + 1 quarter

Total value = 15 cents + 10 cents + 25 cents

Total value = 50 cents

So Bjon has 3 nickels, 1 dime, and 1 quarter.
