Answer by ReadingBoosters(3246) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x = advance
y = door
...
x+y = 109
7x+11y=887
...
rearrange the first equation as x = 109 - y and substitute into the second equation.
...
7(109-y) + 11y = 887
763 - 7y + 11y = 887
4y = 887 - 763
4y = 124
tickets sold at the door
...
x = 109 - 31 = tickets in advance
