Answer by ReadingBoosters(3246)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Just in case you are yet in need of a solution...
Establish variables
x = 2 cent stamp
y = 10 cent stamp
z = 6 cent stamp
..
Given
.02x+.1y+.06z=2
x = y+4, which is the same as y = x-4
z = 2x
...
Substitute y and z into the first equation
.02x + .1(x-4) + .06(2x) = 2
.02x + .1x - .4 + .12x = 2
.24x = 2 + .4
.24x = 2.4
x = 10 stamps of $.02
y = 10-4 = 6 stamps of $.10
x = 2(10) = 20 stamps of $.06
