Question 664278: A coin collector had a collection of coins worth 205. There were five times as many 25 cents as 50 cents, and 200 fewer 10 cents than 25 cents. HOw many of each kind did the collector have? Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 50 cent coins -------------x
25 cent coins --------------5x
10cent coins --------------5x-200
Total value = $205
50x+25(5x)+10(5x-200)=205*100
50x+125x+50x-2000=20500
225x= 20500+2000
225x= 22500
x= 22500/225
x= 100 numbers-----------> 50 cent coins
5x= 500---------------------> 25 cent coins
500-200 = 300 ---------------> 10 cent coins
