in Josh's bank, there is $1.17 in pennies, nickles, and dimes. In all there are 25 coins. If there are twice as many nickels as pennies, find how many of each kind there are. I need to create an equation and find out how many of each coin there are.
**
let x=number of pennies
2x=number of nickels
25-x-2x=25-3x=number of dimes
..
.01x+.05*2x+.10(25-3x)=1.17
.01x+.1x+2.5-.3x=1.17
.19x=1.33
x=7
2x=14
25-3x=4
number of pennies=7
number of nickels=14
number of dimes=4
