Question 640179: I need to know of 9 coins totaling 58 cents but it cannot be a half dollar. I have tried to think of some but i'm having a mind block. i tried a quarter and a dime, but I just can't think of it! Please help!

You can put this solution on YOUR website! The most quarters you can have is 2, since
3 quarters is 75 cents

If you have 2 quarters, then 8 pennies gives you
58 cents, but that is 10 coins

that is 58 cents, but is 6 coins

There is no way out of that, so I'll say
1 quarter, 3 dimes, and 3 pennies
That is 58 cents and 7 coins
