Let x and y represent number of quarters and nickels respectively

Note:  CENTS makes sense:

   25x = 4(5y)  OR y = (25/20)x = (5/4)x

Sue has 122 coins, nickels, dimes and quarters

Let x ,(5/4)x and (122 - (9/4)x) represent the number of quarters nickels & dimes respectively

Question states*** total value is 15.00  Again: CENTS makes sense

 25x + 5(5/4)x + 10(122 - (9/4)x) = 1500

     25x + 25/4x + 1220 - 90/4)x = 1500

     25x + 25/4x  - (90/4)x = 280

               (35/4)x = 280

                     x = 280(4/35)

                     x = 32, number or quarters, 40 nickels and 50 dimes

32*25 + 50*10 + 40*5 = 800 + 500+200 = 1500 or $15.00
