dollars x dimes/dollar = dimes
dollars x dimes/dollar - dimes
Let = number of dimes in jar 2
= number of dimes in jar 1
given:

There are 65 dimes in jar 1
There are 35 dimes in jar 2

Jar 1 has x+3 dollars

Equation:
x + x + 3 = 10
2x = 7
