She has 288 cents
So she needs to make three groups each containing 96 cents.
There are many ways to do that.
For example,
the first two groups can be 3 quarters, 2 dimes and a penny
The last group has all the rest.
Or
the first group has 3 quarters, 2 dimes and a penny
the second group has 3 quarters, 4 nickles and a penny
the third group has all the rest.

I don't understand "three groups of each value" Do you mean three groups of equal value?

If so, add up the total value of all the coins, then divide by 3.
