i just do guess check its small enough amount that its pretty easy to do quickly:
2 quarters and 5 nickels
.50+.25=.75
.
.
I knew no pennies were involved because 5 pennies were needed and theres only 7 coins and 2 quarters was .50 not .70
With the thought of 2 quarters i found that i needed 5 more coins but couldnt be dimes either but 5 nickels made .25 and thats how i came to above conclusion
