How about:
9 quarters = $2.25
2 dimes ...= $0.20
4 pennies..= $0.04
------------------
15 coins...= $2.49
-----------------=
But if you have to include at least one of each type of coin, then:
9 quarters = $2.25
1 dime.....= $0.10
2 nickels..= $0.10
4 pennies..= $0.04
------------------
16 coins...= $2.49
------------------
