Let x be the number of quarters.
Let (13-x) be the number of dimes.
...
25x+10(13-x)=125
25x+130-10x=125
15x+130=125
15x=-5
...
This question is impossible. Even if all 13 coins were all dimes than there would be $1.30 . Which is more than $1.25 .
