Let x be the number of quarters.
Let 60-x be the number of nickels.
...
25x+5(60-x)=920
The 25 and 5 is for the value of the coins (25 cents and 5 cents)
25x+300-5x=920
20x=920-300
20x=620
x=31
60-x=29
...
Therefore, there are 31 quarters and 29 nickels in the jar.
