I managed too do all the questions except for this one, it is really difficult. Help would be greatly appreciated, please and thank-you. Q : A certain number of nickels, two more dimes than nickels and two more quarters than dimes is worth $1.60. Find how many of each kind there are. Its supposed to be an alebra question. I need too set up and equation, show my work and provide a table for full marks. This question is just so hard, i really need the help please & thanks. For the table i managed too put it like this. Nickels, dimes & quarters, & value, number and amount. Please help me out thank you so much god bless you.

nickels 5 x denomination
dimes 10 (x + 2)
quarters 25 ( x + 4)
Value 160
5x+10(x+2)+25(x+4)=160
5x+10x+20+25x+100=160
40x+120 =160
40x=160- 120
40x=40
/40
x=1nickel
dimes=3
quarters=5 quarters
coins-------------denomination--------numbers-----------value cents
nickel------------5-------------------1-----------------5
dimes-------------10------------------3-----------------30
quarters-----------25-----------------5-----------------125
Total value---------------------------------------------160 cents

Find how many of each kind there are
:
Let n = no. of nickels
Let d = no. of dimes
Let q = no. of quarters
:
Write an equation for each phrase
:
"two more dimes than nickels"
d = n + 2
or
n = d - 2
:
"and two more quarters than dimes"
q = d + 2
:
"is worth $1.60."
.05n + .10d + .25q = 1.60
:
In the above equation; replace n with (d-2), replace q with (d+2), find d
.05(d-2) + .10d + .25(d+2) = 1.60
.05d - .10 + .10d + .25d + .5 = 1.60
Combine like terms
.05d + .10d + .25d - .10 + .50 = 1.60
.40d + .40 = 1.60
.40d = 1.60 - .40
.4d = 1.20
d = 1.20/.4
d = 3 dimes
