If 15% are dimes, then 100%-15% are note dimes. There are 85% non-dimes
If she has 80 coins, then are not dimes --> 68 non dimes

.15=15%
.15(80)=12 ..."15%of 80 coins is 12 dimes"
80-12=68 ..."80 total coins minus 12 dimes leaves 68 other coins"
so
68 coins are not dimes

A percentage is a way of expressing a number as a fraction of 100.
(100% being ALL of the Amount) 15% is 15/100 or .15 of the entire Amt. for ex.
It is stated the following is true:
15% of the coins are Dimes
.15*80 = 12 The number of Dimes
80-12 = "Not dimes"
