Question 343756: I have to use 12 US coins to pay for a 50 cent ice cream cone. How many coins were dimes?
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
It takes 5 pennies, 5 nickels, and 2 dimes (5+5+2=12) to get 50 cents with 12 coins. To find this answer, simply list all of the possible choices and check them one by one.
So there are 2 dimes.
