Question 22075: One Saturday Bill collected from his newspaper customers twice as many one dollar bills as fives and one less ten than fives. I f Bill collected $58, how many tens, fives and one dollar bills did he get?
Answer by Paul(988)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2x+5(x)+10(x-1)=58
2x+5x+10x-10=58
17x-10+10=58+10
17x=68
x=4
One dollar bills = 2(4)=8
ten dollar bills = 4-(1)=3
Hence, there were 8 ones, 4 fives, and 3 tens; dollar bills collected.
