There were twice as many dimes as nickles and the value of the dimes was $.90 more than the value of the nickles.
.
Let n = number of nickels
then
2n = number of dimes
.
.10(2n) = .05n + .90
.20n = .05n + .90
.15n = .90
n = .90/.15
n = 6 (nickels)
.
Dimes:
2n = 2(6) = 12 (dimes)
