therefore
7s = no. of coins Aly has

sammy and ally had a total of 448 pieces of 25-centavo coins.
s + 7s = 448
8s = 448
s = 56 coins Sammy has
and
a = 7*56
a = 392 coins Aly has

Let c = no. of coins A gives S to accomplish this
56 + c = 3(392 - c)
56 + c = 1176 - 3c
c + 3c = 1176 - 56
