Question 1166363: An object tossed downward with an initial speed (Velocity) of V. will travel a distance of s meters, where =4.9t^2+V.t, anf t is measured in seconds. A coi is dropped from a helicopter at an altitude of 75 m. Approximately how long does it take the coin to reach the ground?

.

The term "dropped" means that the initial velocity was zero : V = 0.

Therefore, to solve the problem, you need to solve this equation

    4.9t^2 = 75.

The solution is t = seconds.

Use your calculator.
