Answer by askmemath(368) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
let there be X and Y 5cent and 10 cent coins respectively
the no. of 5 cents were 7 more than one-half the no. of 10 cents coin
X -7 = Y/2
=> 2x-14 = Y
and 5x +10Y = 535
Dividing by 5 througout
X+2y = 107
X+2(2X-14) = 107
X+4X -28 = 107
Adding 28 on both sides
5X= 107+28 = 135
Dividing by 5 throughout
X=27
Y =40
Check:
27x.05 =$.135
40x.10=$4
Adding both
$5.35 Yay!!!!!
