Answer by ikleyn(52847)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.
Let the number of quarters is Q.

Then the number of dimes is (22-Q).

Your "value equation" is

10*(22-Q) + 25Q = 325  cents.

220 - 10Q + 25Q = 325.

15Q = 325 - 220

Q =  = 7.

Answer.  7 quarters and 22-7 = 15 dimes.

Check.   7*25 + 15*10 = 325 cents.   Correct !!
