The peaches cost 20 cents each and the apples cost 15 cents each. If you could buy 25 pieces of fruit for $4.60, how many of each would you get?
----------
Let # of peaches be "x" ; value is 20x cents
# of apples is "25-x" ; value is 15(25-x)= 375-15x cents
------------
EQUATION:
value + value = 460 cents
20x + 375-15x = 460
5x = 85
x = 17 (# of peaches you would get)
25-x = 8 (# of apples you would get)
