Craig has 80 cents in nickels n and dimes d. He has four more nickels than dimes.

It is a system of two linear equations.
nickels=n
n+n-4=number of coins=2n-4
.05n+.10(n-4)=0.80
.05n+.10n-.40=0.80
.15n=1.20
n=8 nickels
n-4=4 dimes
That is 40+40=80 cents.
