Let m be meat, and c be cheese. Then:
2m+1.5c=18.47
1.5m+.5c=12.73
4.5m+1.5c=38.19
2.5m=38.19-18.47=19.72
m=$7.888 as the cost per pound of meat; and $1.796 as the cost of cheese. ☺☺☺☺
