Let x represent number of Quarters:
25x + 10(x-2) + 5(3x) = 480 CENTS make sense
50x - 20 = 480
50x = 500
x = 10, number of Quarters. Dimes 8, Nickels 30

250 + 80 + 150 = 480 CHECKS!
