Question 1046306: The employee at a bank ordered 5 turkey sandwiches and 3 salads from a local deli. The total cost for the order was $33. If a salad costs $1 less than a turkey sandwich, what is the cost of a turkey sandwich and the cost of a salad ?
Answer by jorel555(1290) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let n be the cost of a salad. Then a turkey sandwich is n+1. So:
5(n+1)+3n=33
8n=28
n=3.50
Salads were $3.50, and turkey sandwiches were $4.50. ☺☺☺☺
