Answer by Theo(13342)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
they gave you a 5 dollar bill plus 50 cents in change.

that's a total of 5.50 that they gave you.

the bill was 3.50.

5.50 - 3.50 = 2.00

you give them 2 dollars back.
