Answer by CubeyThePenguin(3113)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
n = number of nickels
d = number of dimes
q = number of quarters

d = 2n
q = 5n
5n + 10d + 25q = 300

Write everything in terms of n.

5n + 10d + 25q = 300
5n + 10(2n) + 25(5n) = 300
150n = 300
n = 2

Ruth has 2 nickels, 4 dimes, and 10 quarters.
